Illinois, Indiana Attorney Generals Team Up For Teen Anti-Smoking Campaign

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan have teamed to support Legacy’s national youth smoking prevention campaign, Truth.

WBBM’s Kimberly Easton it’s anti-smoking television ad campaign created by teens for teens.

Legacy, a national public health organization, turned to teenagers in its effort to create the first tobacco free generation.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says teenagers respond to the influence of their peers.

“I think that it is absolutely critical that it is teens talking to each other. If it is not cool to another kid for you to be smoking you are not going to start smoking in all likelihood,” Madigan said.

Legacy reports nine percent of teens still smoke in the United States.
