Illinois Attorney General suing EPA with 10 other states

The Illinois Attorney General's office is suing the EPA for blocking a vital rule that protects communities from chemical accidents. 10 other states have also filed suit against the EPA.

Under the chemical accident safety rule, improvements were supposed to be made at more than 12,000 facilities across the country to protect against explosions, fires, and poisonous gas releases. 1,000 of those facilities are in Illinois.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan says it's unacceptable for the EPA to block important safety measures for workers and communities.
